You have a great idea, but you want to make sure it hasn’t been done before. That’s very smart. Markets, Patents & Alliances researches U.S. and international databases to see if there is anything that even remotely looks like what you’ve come up with.
If I don’t find anything, then great! Perhaps it’s time to get a patent.
If Your Invention Already Exists
If I do find something that is similar but not exact, that can be great too. I will carefully compare your idea to what’s been filed to identify the critical improvements you’ve made. These critical improvements can become the basis of very strong patents. I also search international databases, such as PatentScope®, maintained by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO.)
The turnaround is about two weeks and my rates are competitive. If you need it faster, I can get it faster. If you have a limited budget, I can work within that budget.
Is Your Idea Patentable?
A thorough search is a very effective way to discover what is patentable in your new idea. By comparing the details of what you’ve done with what’s been done before, I can help identify the truly creative parts of your invention. These creative parts can be the foundation of a strong patent.
My clients are extremely pleased with the thoroughness of my work and they trust my opinions. Here’s what one of them has to say about the quality of my searches:
“Mark is practical, pragmatic and creative when it comes to evaluating new ideas for patentability. There is a lot of art and science to patents. Mark comes at it from all sides.”
—Bob Oros, President Business Development Resources Inc.
